Qatar, Seven Arab and Islamic Countries Condemn Israeli Rejection of Gaza Peace Road Map

Qatar

DOHA — Qatar and seven Arab and Islamic countries have condemned Israel’s declared rejection of the road map for completing the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s comprehensive plan to end the Gaza conflict, as well as Israel’s rejection of the establishment of a Palestinian state.

The joint statement was issued by the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, TĂźrkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt. The ministers said the Israeli position jeopardises implementation of the comprehensive plan and undermines collective efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.

Eight Countries Issue Joint Condemnation

The ministers said the road map is intended to complete implementation of the US President’s Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza conflict, which the statement said was endorsed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803. They argued that rejection of the road map and Palestinian statehood obstructs efforts to bring peace to Gaza and the wider Occupied Palestinian Territory.

Call for Full and Immediate Implementation

The eight countries stressed what they described as an urgent need for the comprehensive plan to be implemented fully and immediately. They said implementation would help address Gaza’s severe humanitarian conditions, support security and stability, enable reconstruction and recovery, and advance prospects for a just and lasting peace.

The statement linked such a settlement to the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with international law.

What the Road Map Covers

According to the joint statement, the road map was accepted by Palestinian factions and resulted from extensive mediation efforts involving Qatar, Egypt, TĂźrkiye, the United States, the High Representative of Gaza and the Board of Peace.

The ministers said the framework provides for the decommissioning of weapons alongside the withdrawal of Israeli forces, deployment of an International Stabilization Force, transfer of administrative authority to the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza, and reconstruction of the territory in accordance with the comprehensive plan.

Countries Behind the Statement

•    State of Qatar
•    Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
•    United Arab Emirates
•    Republic of Indonesia
•    Islamic Republic of Pakistan
•    Republic of Türkiye
•    Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
•    Arab Republic of Egypt

Focus on Humanitarian Relief and Reconstruction

The ministers emphasised that progress on the road map is also tied to the humanitarian situation in Gaza. They said the wider plan is designed to create conditions for recovery and reconstruction while supporting longer-term security and stability for people across the region.

Support for Palestinian Statehood

The joint statement reaffirmed the participating countries’ support for Palestinian self-determination and statehood under international law. The ministers presented this as a central element of efforts to establish a durable political settlement rather than a temporary end to hostilities.

Key Takeaway

Qatar and seven other Arab and Islamic countries have jointly rejected Israel’s stated position on the Gaza road map and Palestinian statehood, calling instead for immediate implementation of the comprehensive plan. Their statement places humanitarian relief, Israeli withdrawal, weapons decommissioning, international stabilisation, Palestinian administration, reconstruction and a pathway to Palestinian statehood at the centre of the proposed next phase.
